About Me
Jamie Power RDH, OMT
Born and raised in the beautiful Skagit Valley in Wasthington State, Jamie received her B.S. degree in wildlife ecology from the Evergreen State College. For over a decade, she worked as a wildlife biologist studying endangered and threatened songbirds throughout the western United States and abroad. When she and her husband moved back to the Skagit Valley, Jamie decided to make a big career change into the dental world. She received her degree in dental hygiene from the Bellingham Technical College in 2018.
As an RDH Jamie approaches patient care with a “whole body health” mindset. For years she listened to patients complain of clenching and grinding, TMJ pain, problems with sleep, orthodontic relapse and high blood pressure. She was unwilling to accept that these common complaints were nothing more than normal problems; she knew there was more to learn between the mouth/body connection.
In 2019 she first learned about orofacial myofunctional therapy through a continuing education course at the UW . This class began to shed light on the dysfunctional patterns she was seeing in patients. It also answered questions about her own problems with sleep. After this course, she was hooked. She loved the idea of offering a deeper level of care through a holistic approach to whole body health starting at the mouth. She then completed the MyoMentor program with Sarah Hornsby in 2023. To further expand her knowledge, she became a certified MyoMunchee provider in 2024 and certified instructor of the Buteyko Breathing technique in 2025.
